FATE AND FORTUNE
Paranormal Thriller
Release Date: January 27th 2018
June 6, 2014 was a beautiful sunny day until two gunmen, wearing black masks, ran into a local coffee shop in the middle of the day and took people hostage. As the police burst through the door, the two men killed each other but not before they began shooting people one by one. The shooters thought that they were possessed by the Devil, and the Devil was ordering them to carry out his plan.
Two years later, after the news of the shooting became a distant memory for most, four different people from four different walks of life suddenly meet the same lady, who starts to impact their lives in unexpected and mysterious ways. But, just as they set out to discover who she really is, and what it is that she wants from them; they find themselves stuck in a life-and-death struggle as the mystery unfolds, and suddenly nothing seems sure anymore.
SNEAK PEEK
“Good luck at the hospital
today.”
It startled me, her knowing
that I work in the hospital. I wasn't wearing a white coat or any medical
attire. I was dressed in a regular business suit, and I had never seen this
woman before — how would she know I was a doctor? Astonished, I quickly turned
around and asked, “How did you know I work in the hospital? Sorry, do we know
each other?”
She continued to smile, her
eyes oddly studying me. “You dropped your business card,” she replied. “It says
it right here.” She pointed her finger to the title on the card in her hand.
She continued studying me as I studied her. I glanced at the card, then back at
her. I knew she was lying to me. I was just trying to figure out why.
“This isn’t my business card,”
I said. “I’m a surgeon, not a family physician. What is this? This doesn’t even
look like my business card. Where did you get this?”
Her smile slowly faded. “Sorry,
my mistake. I must’ve confused you with someone else.”
“Yes, you most definitely must
have me confused with someone else,” I said, getting weird, intense feeling
inside. “Although I find it strange that someone else you know has the same
first and last name as I do. Who also happens to work in the same hospital as I
do.”
Something seemed off with this
lady. Whatever it was, it was something I couldn't pinpoint. And frankly, I
didn’t want to waste time finding out.
“Sorry, I’m in a rush, I have to get going.”
She gave me a hard look, then
she smiled again and said, "I wish you best of luck with your day."
“Thanks, I need all the luck I
can get,” I said, knowing that the only luck I wanted was to have my husband
back in my life. That and for Charlie to wake up. I opened the door and walked
through it, feeling her gaze follow me as I strode into the street.
And here she is. . .
